Andy is understanding, helpful and accommodating. He has gone out of his way to make us feel happier, safer and more at home in our house. I don’t expect to have a landlord as willing to help again.

Living at 9 Lawrence Street for the last 2 years has been a genuinely great experience due in no small part to the reliable, friendly and fair nature of both Paula and Andy. Whenever my fellow housemates or I needed anything both Andy and Paula were quick to respond and the service which they provided us helped make 9 Lawrence Street feel like home. I would definitely recommend Prospect Property to any students wishing to find accommodation in York.

All six of us have thoroughly enjoyed our stay at 1 Brownlow Street. The house itself is in immaculate condition; Andy had it professionally cleaned and redecorated before we moved in. The downstairs is spacious, and the sofas are incredibly comfy-perfect for movie marathons when procrastinating doing Uni work! Andy is an extremely reliable landlord, any issues we have had with the house we’ve contacted Andy and he has responded on the same day with a plan in place to ensure the problem is sorted as soon as possible. Andy is also extremely accommodating; fixing us up with new beds and wardrobes in our times of need. His colleague Paula is always on hand and easy to contact about any questions or issues we may have. The handyman Brian is brilliant, he’s always very friendly and sorted any job we’ve thrown at him! Overall we couldn’t have picked a better house to spend our last year at University in, it’s just a shame we didn’t have it for all 3 years!

Andy is a friendly, approachable landlord and really seems to care about the welfare of his tenants. Any problems were dealt with efficiently and professionally and an up to date list of contacts was always provided. Intrusions were kept to a minimum and our privacy was respected. I have no complaints whatsoever!

I lived at 1 Brownlow street for two years. Andy the landlord is trustworthy and reliable, so important for students. Amazing house compared to typical student houses, location amazing few minutes to YSJ campus and town centre. Andy is always just a text away for any repairs and maintenance and it’s organised with speed and attentiveness. This might seem normal but many student landlords do not respond at all let alone as quickly as Andy.I can’t fault the house, perfect for 6 people and never felt overcrowded. Quality of furnishings is good and Andy replaced anything I needed immediately and this kept the house in really good condition. I cannot recommend Better Student Homes and 1 Brownlow street enough! We lived at Lawrence street for two years from 2018 to 2020. Andy was always able to help and make things as easy as possible for us. Whenever anything was broken it would be repaired or replaced immediately. We cannot fault Andy as a landlord. I personally have loved living in the house due to the location, the house itself and Andy as the landlord.

I really enjoyed living at no. 51 Hes Road, it was ideally situated and the house spacious and well cared for. Andy was the perfect landlord, little things like being able to paint our rooms whatever colour we liked made the place really feel like our own. Having a list of who to contact when things go wrong and knowing that we wouldn’t have to battle to get money back for general house repairs gave great peace of mind too, as opposed to some of the horror stories you hear about students living in squalor because the landlord wont fix anything. Overall it was a fantastic two years!

Andy has people working for him who will come around regularly if anything needs fixing, but heand his team only come around when asked and they give plenty of notice if they need to call round. In the last two years he has always made it feel like it is our home. He doesn’t mind us putting our own stamp on our rooms (within reason!). Posters for example were no problem. Overall with Andy and Prospect Property you will have an excellent house and no hassle. It all makes uni life so much easier!
