I recommended Prospect property to my first and second year friends, one of them thanked me after he had signed a contract, adding in a tone of amazement ‘He actually likes students!’ Andy has always been friendly, accommodating and fair. Whenever we’ve had problems he’s been over to discuss them with us and has always resolved them for us satisfactorily. We have felt very lucky to have had such a good landlord throughout our time at uni, he deserves his good reputation.

Andy has been a fantastic landlord over the last two years and has always been quick to respond and help with queries when needed. His team are incredibly friendly and efficient. I would highly recommend any student in York to rent with him.
All six of us have thoroughly enjoyed our stay at 1 Brownlow Street. The house itself is in immaculate condition; Andy had it professionally cleaned and redecorated before we moved in. The downstairs is spacious, and the sofas are incredibly comfy-perfect for movie marathons when procrastinating doing Uni work! Andy is an extremely reliable landlord, any issues we have had with the house we’ve contacted Andy and he has responded on the same day with a plan in place to ensure the problem is sorted as soon as possible. Andy is also extremely accommodating; fixing us up with new beds and wardrobes in our times of need. His colleague Paula is always on hand and easy to contact about any questions or issues we may have. The handyman Brian is brilliant, he’s always very friendly and sorted any job we’ve thrown at him! Overall we couldn’t have picked a better house to spend our last year at University in, it’s just a shame we didn’t have it for all 3 years!
I lived at 1 Brownlow street for two years. Andy the landlord is trustworthy and reliable, so important for students. Amazing house compared to typical student houses, location amazing few minutes to YSJ campus and town centre. Andy is always just a text away for any repairs and maintenance and it’s organised with speed and attentiveness. This might seem normal but many student landlords do not respond at all let alone as quickly as Andy.I can’t fault the house, perfect for 6 people and never felt overcrowded. Quality of furnishings is good and Andy replaced anything I needed immediately and this kept the house in really good condition. I cannot recommend Better Student Homes and 1 Brownlow street enough! Andy is understanding, helpful and accommodating. He has gone out of his way to make us feel happier, safer and more at home in our house. I don’t expect to have a landlord as willing to help again.
I’ve been fortunate to live in a “Prospect Property” house for my final 2 years at York Uni (15 Heslington Road, 2003-2005). The standard of accommodation has been excellent and Andy (the landlord) compares very well with other landlords in the area that my friends have had! He is always helpful and manages to get people around to fix any problems (of which we have had few) very quickly and with minimum disruption. I would recommend Andy to anybody looking for a house in York.
Overall the standard of accommodation is fantastic with the landlord being amazing. Mervyn (maintenance man) has been a Godsend and is always there if we need him (even at 8pm on Sunday evening)! Thanks for two great years!

One of the best things about being with Prospect Property was that you were able to contact the landlord whenever a problem occurred. Having the contact numbers of plumbers/ electricians in the local area was also very helpful as it meant that when problems occured, which they inevitably do, you did not have to panic. You knew who to contact and they were often able to come out that day to have a look what the problem was. Andy is an approachable, friendly landlord and the fact that he cares about his properties is apparent in the conditions that they are kept in!
