I lived at 1 Brownlow street for two years. Andy the landlord is trustworthy and reliable, so important for students. Amazing house compared to typical student houses, location amazing few minutes to YSJ campus and town centre. Andy is always just a text away for any repairs and maintenance and it’s organised with speed and attentiveness. This might seem normal but many student landlords do not respond at all let alone as quickly as Andy.I can’t fault the house, perfect for 6 people and never felt overcrowded. Quality of furnishings is good and Andy replaced anything I needed immediately and this kept the house in really good condition. I cannot recommend Better Student Homes and 1 Brownlow street enough! You should advertise your best points- we were really pleased to have a gardening service included in our rent but didn’t know until they arrived!

I’ve been fortunate to live in a “Prospect Property” house for my final 2 years at York Uni (15 Heslington Road, 2003-2005). The standard of accommodation has been excellent and Andy (the landlord) compares very well with other landlords in the area that my friends have had! He is always helpful and manages to get people around to fix any problems (of which we have had few) very quickly and with minimum disruption. I would recommend Andy to anybody looking for a house in York.
